Dorothy Ray “Dot” Baker, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and hero to many, died at the age of 80 at her home in Ada, OK on Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was surrounded by those who loved her most.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Vicki Collins will officiate, burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
She was born January 22, 1936 in Kilgore, TX to Charles Earl and Thelma Ray Yates Huddleston. After graduating from McAlester High School, she moved to Ada, started her family, and found true love with Bill Baker, whom she married February 22, 1968.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and had previously worked for a law office, Kerr Lab Research and the AldersonBaker Agency. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; two daughters, Kelly L. Bateman of Ada and Jerri Rae Mariash (Stephen) of St. Joseph, MN; a granddaughter, Beth Vinson; two grandsons, Cameron Chaffee of St. Paul, MN and Corbin Chaffee of Boulder, CO; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Donaghey, of the home; and a greatgrandson, Drake Vinson of Moore.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the First Christian Church, 101 E. 13th Street, Ada, OK 74820.
