Services for George Kenneth Anderson, 73, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Revs. Ricky King, Ron Shipley and Rick McVeigh will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson received his heavenly promotion Tuesday, October 9, 2018. He was born April 3, 1945 at Seminole to George Riley and Zirepta Elizabeth Tow Anderson. He attended Seminole schools and graduated from Seminole High School. He attended Seminole Jr. College, transferred to East Central University in Ada and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music and later a Master’s Degree in Education. He did Post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma.
He married Leila Ellen Branscum May 28, 1966 at Seminole. She preceded him in death January 29, 2016. Mr. Anderson had taught school in Konawa for a short time. He was co-owner of K & L Real Estate Appraisal for 25 years and had also owned and operated Anderson Photography for many years.
Mr. Anderson was a longtime member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by special friends, Karen McBride and Teresa Hogue, both of Ada; his extended church family; a brother-in-law, Dr. Walter Branscum and wife Anita, Jackson, MO; two sisters-in-law, Delois Farris and husband Leon, Duncan and Marcella Branscum, Oklahoma City; and cousins, Wanda Jennings, Las Vegas, NV, Sharon Smith, Bakersfield, CA, Beverly Forthum, Burley, ID and Richard Dynes, Paso Robles, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leila; and a son, Hugh Anderson, who passed away March 12, 1993.
Bearers will be Bryce Oliver, Keith Gurley, Faye Sliger, Gary Hogue, Kelly Campbell and Kamron Hogue. Honorary bearers will be Bill Dewey, Dan Oliver and John Chappel.
