Services for William Edward “Trip” Franklin, Sr., 61, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. James Church of God in Christ, Rev. Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Stonewall.

> Mr. Franklin died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at a local hospital. He was born July 2, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma to Arnold and Ruby Lewis Pettigrew Franklin. He attended Napier Elementary School before it closed and graduated from Byng High School in 1971. During high school excelled in auto mechanics, body painting and wood work. He attended Okmulgee Tech for two years and then returned to Ada.

> Mr. Franklin worked as a common laborer for a while; mowing lawns, painting and fixing roofs. He had also been employed at Brockway Glass Company and Bob’s Bar-B-Que for several years. He attended St. James Church of God in Christ.

> Survivors include a son, William Edward Franklin, Jr and wife Kendra of Ada; three step-grandchildren, Shavon Harrison, Deandre Harrison, and Trey Harrison of Ada; two sisters, June Walker and husband Phillip of Midwest City and Juanita Walker and husband Dale of Ada; his two nephews, David Blue and wife Monica of Ada, and Christopher Blue of San Francisco, CA; five nieces, Ruby Hightower of Oklahoma City, Deanna Hightower of Midwest City, Sherra Blue and Emenike Whitfield of Tulsa, Erica Lewis of Moore, Domiqua Farris of Duluth, GA; seven great nephews, DeMarkus Vorise, Tré Hightower, Cameron Hollins, Jordan Blue, Tyrone Lewis, Christian Whitfield, and Titus Lewis; four great nieces, Kiana Ingram, Dejanae Humphrey, Kiera Blue, and Teaghan Lewis; a great great niece, Jamila Chrystal; and a host of cousins and friends.

> He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Lee Franklin, and two infant brothers.

> Bearers will be Leonard Cushenberry, Leon Alfred, Jr., Brad Steward, Earnest Wright, Billie Blue, Jr., and Marcus Rogers. Honorary bearers will be Derick Daniels, Don Cubitt and Roy Frazier. Flower bearers will be Shirley Brown, Evelyn Cushenberry, Vernita Richardson, Denise Steward, Elvia Myers and Deborah Cochran. Honorary bearers will be Wanda Nelson, Mary McFadden and Edith Miller.
