MILDRED EVELYN JACKSON PIPPIN
1934 - 2004
Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at Calvary Bible Church, wih graveside services following at Hillcrest Memorial Park for Mildred (Millie) Pippin, 69, who passed into eternal life on March 27, 2004. Her friend and pastor, Doug Davis, will officiate.

Millie was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on July 15, 1934 and was one of 8 chldren. She made Bakersfield her home for the past 49 years. Together with her husband, Earl whom she was married to for 53 years and who preceded her in death just nine months ago, she raised five daughters. Our mother, mama, grandmommy and GG was a constant loving presence for her family. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan, attending their many activities.

Family and church were everything to Millie. Her love of the Lord was demonstrated constantly in her devotion and generosity to her children, grandchildren and friends. Her years working at Brocks, Casa Moore Jewelers and the Kern County Welfare Department as an eligibility worker, left Mildred with many friends. Her favorite pastimes were camping with her grandchildren, playing cards and canasta with friends, and her monthly family dinners with her sisters and brothers.

Mildred is survived by her daughters and their husbands (who she called sons), Vickie and Mike D'Amato, Lynette and Tom Matthews, Debbie and Terry Turner, Tammy and Jim Curry and her son-in-law, Paul Hughes and his wife, Janie; her grandchildren, Brian, Bridget and Brandy Turner, Jennifer Watkins and her husband, Steve, Bobby, Amie and Ricky Bridgewater, Melissa and Jonathan Hughes and Katie, Jack and Connor Curry; her great grandchildren, Torie, Tyler and Tyran Bridgewater, Jewel Turner and Lexie Watkins. Mildred joins her daughter, Kathey Hughes in Heaven.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike D'Amato, Billy Jackson, Ed Huhn and Jim Curry. Pallbearers will be Terry Turner, Paul Hughes, David Jackson, Brian Turner, Steve Watkins, JR Bangloy and Jonathan Hughes.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Mish Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Calvary Bible Missionaries are appreciated.
