Geneva Marie (Sanders) Jamar

Memorial services for Geneva Marie Jamar, 83, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ada First Free Hill Baptist Church, Revs. David Sutton and Dean Stone will officiate.

Mrs. Jamar passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at an Ada assisted living center. She was born September 24, 1933 in Stratford to Johnie and Jessie McCracken Sanders. She lived in this area all her life and graduated from Asher High School.

She married Calvin Jamar May 25, 1952 at Galey. He preceded her in death March 29, 1999. Mrs. Jamar had worked at Brockway Glass Company and also she had been a nurse’s aide at Valley View Regional Hospital for 20 years. Mrs. Jamar was a longtime member of the Ada First Free Will Baptist Church where she had served as a church nursery teacher and she also was involved with the Camp Fire Girls.

Survivors include her children, Jerry and Deborah Jamar of Broken Arrow, Rick and Donna Jamar of Ada and Donna Estes of Ada; her grandchildren, Chad and Sarah Jamar, Waco, TX, Adam and Angela Jamar, Broken Arrow, Randi and Doug Ivy, Stratford, Amanda and Clay Herrin, Stonewall, Jenna and Gary Owens, Pauls Valley and Bartley and Shelby Estes, Edmond; her great-grandchildren, Caden and Cole Jamar, Waco, TX; Adelyn and Annabel Jamar, Broken Arrow; Jaxon Bryant, Megan and Calvin Ivy of Stratford; Hunter Herrin, Stonewall; and Endy Owens, Pauls Valley; her mother, Jessie Sanders of Ada; siblings, Joyce and Orval Pittman, Erma and Robert Turner, Wilma Sanders, Jim and Rita Sanders, Johnny Sanders, Robert and Lyndia Sanders and Ed and Donna Sanders; a many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnie Sanders; her husband, Calvin Jamar; and brothers-in-law, Roger Williams and Alvin Jamar.

Bearer will be her grandsons, Chad Jamar, Adam Jamar, Bartley Estes, Gary Owens, Doug Ivy and Clay Herrin.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Stephenson Cancer Center, 800 NE 10th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
