On Friday, March 17th, 2017 after 74 years of life on this earth, Dr. Edward Floyd Fugger (Ed) left his earthly tent behind, to now stand and worship in the presence of the Lord. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather - wise, humorous, and full of joy. Having received his Doctorate of Reproductive Physiology from Texas A&M, Ed was a pioneer in the field of in vitro fertilization and served as an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Virginia. With insights from the Holy Spirit, he developed ground-breaking procedures which have given couples the opportunity to experience God’s miraculous gift of children.
Ed loved studying God’s Word, and he loved sharing the transforming principles found within the Scriptures that he knew to bring abundant life and salvation. Throughout his life, he served the Lord and body of Christ as elder, house pastor, and counselor. After retirement, Ed went into full-time ministry teaching the Word of God at Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Roanoke, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bettye Abney Fugger, his two children, Leigh Smith of New York and Edward Fugger of Dallas, Texas, and his four grandchildren: Megan and Lauren Smith and Mason and Ben Fugger.
We celebrate the memory of his impact on this earth and his completion in the Lord. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25th 2pm, at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, Oklahoma. Whether in the same room or across the country, we are able to share in celebrating Ed’s entrance into the throne room of our Lord.
If you would like to make a memorial gesture, donations in Ed’s memory can be designated to "Missions" at http://www.independentassemblies.org/donate.html.
