Services for Gary Lee Wilson, 60, Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Drew Isaacs will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home. Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1949, at New Orleans, La., to Glen and Juanita Carpenter Wilson.

He lived all his life in this area and graduated from Byng High School in 1968. He also graduated from OSU Okmulgee Tech.

He married Gayla Atwood on Feb. 13, 2003, at Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Wilson taught auto-body collision at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas, and had served in the U.S. Navy for four years.

Survivors include his wife, Gayla Wilson, of the home; two daughters, Charity Sharp and husband Rob, Midwest City, and Heather Nickell and husband Chris, Ada; three sons, Chris Wilson, Tulsa, Cody Wilson and wife Bethany, Ada, and Chad Atwood and wife Marcy, Browns Mills, N.J.; five grandchildren, Michael Sharp, Brooklyn Nickell, Robert Atwood, Alexis Atwood, and Rebecca Atwood; one brother, Richard Wilson, Ada; and a sister, Glenda Roley, Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bearers will be Chris Wilson, Cody Wilson, Chris Atwood, Ryan Nickell, John Carpenter and Tyler Carpenter. Honorary bearers will be Lloyd Hatley and Bob Raine.
