Graveside services for Vernon Nix were held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Oakman Cemetery in Ada, Ok.

Vernon Clyde Nix was born on September 19, 1934 in Steedman, OK to William Doyle and Ethel O. (Smyres) Nix and passed away on July 10, 2005 in OKC at the age of 70.

He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight and a member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include his 2 sons and their wives, David and Rhonda Nix of Mustang, OK, and Michael and Rhonda Nix of California; brothers, P.H. & Betty Nix of Texas and Gene and Jennie Nix of OKC; sisters, Irene Floyd and husband Doyle of Colorado, Geneva Smith and husband Harold of Colorado, Joann Sewell of Louisiana and Carolyn Sue Harper of OKC and 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth and companion Leona Nix.
