Services for Roy Keith Long, Sr., 87, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Long passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at a local hospital. He was born January 22, 1932 at Watonga, OK to James Long and Effie Marie Uhrig Long. He graduated from Watonga High School.
He married Carol Ann White on April 26, 1952 in Shawnee. She preceded him in death February 26, 2002. Mr. Long was an electrician for O. G. & E. until his retirement. He was also the owner/operator of the Tastee Freez in Ada and also the Arlington Drive-In. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and had served in the U. S. Army as a Helicopter Pilot.
Survivors include a daughter, Susie Jiru, Ada; son, Jack Long and wife Laura, Ada; three grandchildren, Christina Long, Joe long and Angie Long, all of Ada; a brother, Gary Long and wife Sandy, Yukon; sister, Carolyn Newberry and husband Dal, Oklahoma City; and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Ann; a son, Roy Keith Long, Jr.; two brothers, Wesley Long and Jim Long; and a sister, Maryann Pearson.
Bearers will be Jack Long, Leonard Preble, Bart Conley, Joe Long, Kyle Wilson and Butch Platt. Honorary bearers will be Todd Martin and Greg Chilcoat.
