Funeral services for Nelda Sue Joplin will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Oakman Cemetery in Oakman, Oklahoma.

Nelda Sue Joplin passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, in Prague, Oklahoma at the age of 79. She was born in Wapanucka, Oklahoma on July 14, 1944, to William McKinley and Ida Winberry Cartwright and was raised in Atoka, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Atoka High School, she immediately began working in the banking industry in Dallas and then Oklahoma City before moving to Ada where she met the love of her life, Wayne Joplin. The two wed on March 11, 1966, in Durant, Oklahoma. They lived in the Oakman community for over 50 years. While in Ada, she was employed at Service Chevrolet, American General Finance, East Central University, and Express Personnel while also cherishing her time as a homemaker.

Nelda was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Becky West and husband Carlous of Ada, Julie Wall and husband Danny of Ada, and Brett Joplin and wife Krystal of Hickory. She had grandchildren who loved her greatly-Heath Wall and wife Logan of Ada, Reid Wall of Oklahoma City, Keegan West of Ada, Kaylan West of Moore, Gage Wall of Oklahoma City, Wilson Joplin of Ada, and Beau Joplin and Greyson Joplin of Hickory. She also had two great-grandchildren, Oakley and Hudson Wall of Ada. She has one surviving brother, Jerry Cartwright and wife Janie of Tushka, and one surviving sister, Annette Roark of Aubrey, Texas. Nelda has many nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Joplin, parents William and Ida Cartwright, sisters Shirley Cartwright, Mary Ruth Cartwright, Marguerite Lowry, Betty Haines, and Lee Joy Smithart, and brothers C.W. Cartwright, J.R. Cartwright, and Odell Cartwright.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
