Graveside services for Charles Donald Thompson, 90, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the New Bethel Cemetery at Byng. His sons, Mickey and Jon Thompson will officiate.

Mr. Thompson passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born July 31, 1926 in Ada to James Owen and Minnie Jewell Henry Thompson. He attended Byng schools and graduated from Byng High School in 1943. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from East Central University.

He married Mary Lou Loman on May 23, 1951. Mr. Thompson was a teacher, coach and principal, retiring after 34 years of service. He taught in Jr. High and High School at Weleetka, Konawa, Waurika and Ardmore. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; two sons, Mickey Thompson and wife Kym of Oklahoma City and Jon Thompson and wife Kathy of Ada; his grandchildren, Matt Thompson, Houston, Lauren Thompson, Oklahoma City, Heath Thompson, Houston, Brooks Thompson, Stillwater, Tasha Wilk, Goldsby, Jacob Fleck, Blanchard, David Thompson, Tulsa and Jennifer Thompson, Tulsa; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a sister.
