Graveside services for John Thomas “Tom” Sweeney, Jr., 68, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at New Bethel Cemetery, Jon Ralph Thompson will officiate.

Mr. Sweeney died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born January 11, 1953 in Great Falls, Montana to John Thomas “Bud” and Verna Mae Loman Sweeney. He graduated from Ada High School in 1971. He married Nancy Mitchell and later Ronda Whittington.

Tom was employed with Remington Arms as a mechanic and machinist. His greatest joys were family and working in his shop, and he will be remembered for his kindness, humor, strength, love of sports and music.

Survivors include his mother, Verna Sweeney; children, Toni Davidson, Mike Sweeney and wife Starla, Amy Culbertson and husband Michael, Melissa Sweeney, Nathan Sweeney and wife Meagan and Paul Sweeney; 13 grandchildren, Courtney, Brittany, Morgan, Madison, Star, Summer, Emma, Michael, Eisley, Dylan, Chase, Paisley and Lily; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, David and Gary Sweeney.
