Services for Garvin Doyle "Curly" Skaggs, 87, of Shawnee are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery at Byng. Mr. Skaggs passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Midwest City. He was born June 6, 1930 near Okemah to Levi L. and Ila Georgia Skaggs.

He married Juanita LaFawn Duncan April 17, 1950. She preceded him in death January 7, 2003. Mr. Skaggs retired from the State of Arizona Highway Department. Later, he worked in construction for Sun State. He enjoyed hunting and cruising around town.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Lee Skaggs and wife Patty of Sun City, AZ and Darrin Skaggs of Shawnee; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Cecil Skaggs of El Mirage, AZ; and three sisters, Alice Jones of El Mirage, AZ, Joyce Talley, Salen, OR and Ferbi Howl, Corpus Christi, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Doyle Skaggs; and a daughter, Jacqueline Southy.

Bearers will be Kerry Roberts, Adam Welch, Tyler Welch, Andy Lockhart, Jerry Skaggs and Frankie Hendershot.
