Harry LaDon Sayre passed from his earthly home Monday, October 9, 2023. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Sharon, and devoted children, Brett and Dana.

Harry was born in Coleman, Oklahoma to Harry & Gladys Sayre, on July 30th, 1944. He was the last of 6 children.

He graduated from Byng School in 1962 where he played basketball and baseball. He was also on the yearbook staff. He and Sharon Owens were voted most popular. He married Sharon Owens on July 31st, 1964.

After graduation, he started to work for Blue Bell, later known as Wrangler. He graduated from East Central University in 1967 with a degree in Education. In 1969 he received his Masters Degree in Guidance & Counselling.

He coached baseball & basketball at Moss Schools for 3 years and then moved to Byng where he coached basketball and was a counselor for 5 years. After leaving Byng schools, he returned to Wrangler, where he retired after 35 years of service.

Don gave his heart to the Lord in 1968. In 1993, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Martinsville, Virginia, he rededicated his life to the lord, was baptized and became a new creation in Christ. He was ordained into the ministry in 2007 at Trinity Baptist Church. He was the Senior Adult Minister at Trinity for 17 years and taught the Fellowship Class for 21 years.

Don is survived by his beloved wife Sharon and two children. His son Brett Sayre and his wife Lauri; daughter Dana Yocham and her husband Steve. Grandchildren Shelby Grove & Travis Lighty, Stormy Sayre, Sheyenne & Carl West, Shay Grove & Michael Zetterberg, Shadley & Hunter Capps, CeCe Sayre, Ryan Yocham & Cody Pavish, Bailey Renz, Josh & Hannah Yocham, Reagan Hodgin and Trae & Nick Harvey. Great Grandchildren Gabe Renz, Penelope Renz, Lorelei Renz, Thatcher Zetterberg, Woodley Zetterberg, Ray Capps & Harper Pavish. He is also survived by his sister, LaVerle Pryor and his brother and sister-in-law, Royce & Paula Sayre. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Gladys Sayre, sisters LaDell Willis, LaWana Sayre & LaVena Madden. Pall Bearers will be Cash Babb, Cameron Babb, Cayden Babb, Colton Bacu, CJ Bacu, Jordan Pryor, Brady Sorrels, Chase Sorrels and Kaden Sorrels. Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm, at Trinity Baptist Church. A nursery will be provided. Interment will follow immediately afterward at New Bethel Cemetery in Byng, OK.
