Graveside memorial service for Sammy Joseph Murray, 76, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at New Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Murray died Monday, November 21, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born December 1, 1944 in Albany, CA to Solomon Osborn and Eula May Hanks Murray.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. Later, Mr. Murray retired as a truck driver.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Murray; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a brother, Leonard “Andrew” Murray, of Ada; and a sister, Evelynn “Cleo” Bopp, of Barstow, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Soloman Murray; mother, Elua Mae Hanks Murray Jones; three sisters, “Donna” Bell Hickey, Veletta “Jean” Hayslip and Cindy Jones; and two brothers, “James” Osborn Murray and Frank Jones.
