Services for Velma Joyce Walters, 80, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Shawn Wiebers will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Walters died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at a local hospital. She was born November 1, 1935 in Ada, Oklahoma to Olen C. and Vera Bell Sliger Deaton. She attended Horace Mann School.

She married Billy Earl Walters on May 23, 1952. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2006. She was the owner/operator of Joyce’s Beauty Box and an active member of Crosspointe Church. Mrs. Walters loved playing cards with the “LOL” group.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Walters of Oklahoma City, Ok and Dana McNutt and husband Gary, of Ada; four brothers, O.C. Deaton of Morris, Ok, Jim Deaton of Long Beach, Ca, Doug Deaton of Ada and Ron Deaton of Ada; grandchildren, Kerri and Tyson Allard of Hobart, Ok and Kortni McNutt of Ada and great-granddaughter, Quinn Allard.

Bearers will be Jason Deaton, Mark McCauley, Brad Cantrell, Marty Babb, Lanny Sliger and Hal Sliger. Honorary Bearers will be the LOL card group, Virgie Garrett, Chursey Fountain, Carol Hyde, Helen Sweeda and Rebecca Walker.
