Services for Gene Arden Thomas, 83, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born October 20, 1937 in Ada, OK to Clyde Lee and Alice Gertrude Mosier Thomas. He graduated from Ada High School.

Gene married Lois Jean Smith October 31, 1958. She preceded him in death February 18, 2015. Mr. Thomas was a Parts Manager for Richardson Buick, later worked for Motor Sales until his retirement. He had also served in the National Guard. He was a very active member of the Ada Elks Lodge BPOE #1640 and was honored with being named “Elk of the Year”.

Survivors include three daughters, Viennia Jean McCurdy and partner, Marte DeVeney, Ada, Gena Marie Jones, Ada and Tana Priest and husband Justin, Roff; four grandchildren, Alex Jones, Rowdy Jones, Georgie Johnson and Conner Priest; a great-grandson, Jaxson Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Sammie Thomas, David Thomas and Joe Thomas; and a sister, Helen Bell.

Bearers will be Rowdy Jones, Conner Priest, Rex Jones, Cody Johnson, Derek Smith and Justin Priest. Honorary bearers will be Jesse Denslow, Leslie Penn, Mark Hightower, Charlie Forehand, Marte DeVeney, Dustin Smith, David Smith, Dusty Smith, Richard Byrd, Robbie Smith and Joe Davis.
