On June 14, 1947, he married Juanita Foxx. They lived in Oklahoma City for a year then moved back to Ada where he went to work for Oklahoma Machine Co. He later went to work for Kerr Pumps, where he worked for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He and Juanita retired from their respective jobs on the same day.

After retirement, he taught Machinist Classes at East Central University and Pontotoc Technology Center. He later went to work part time at P.E.C. in the meter shop. He worked there for 15 years. Wib was very proud of his Choctaw Indian heritage, and was especially proud of a personal visit in his home this summer from Chief Gary Batton and Assistant Chief Jack Austin. He was very honored to receive a “Choctaw Red Warrior” Plaque from the chief, and a beautiful afghan from the tribe for his 90th birthday.

Mr. Scroggins was a Bible class teacher, a Deacon, and an Elder in the Church of Christ for many years. He was active in several phases of church work at Southwest Church of Christ.

Wib is survived by his wife, Juanita (of 73 ˝ yrs.) of the home; his daughter, Lynda Lee Collins and husband, Jud, of Mannford, OK; son, David Carl Scroggins and wife Nancy, of Frisco, TX; three grandsons, Blake Collins and wife Shelly Owasso, OK, Beau Scroggins and wife Shannon, San Francisco, CA and Brett Scroggins, Austin, TX; one granddaughter, Breanna Collins White and husband Luke, Edmond, OK; five great-grandchildren, Wilder, Gwyneth and Adelyn Collins and Ellia and Palmer White; one great-granddaughter on the way; one sister, Thelma Toney, Denison, TX; two brothers, Charles Scroggins, Moore, OK and Dale Scroggins and wife Sharon, Meeker, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Essie Scroggins; a sister, Helen Royer; two brothers, Ted Scroggins and Spud Scroggins; two brothers-in-law, Bud Royer and Norvin Toney; two nephews, Curtis Scroggins and Jerry Toney; mother and father-in-law, Ira and Edith Wommack; a very special sister-in-law, who was like a daughter, Jon Ann Wommack Holland, and many loving nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Pall bearers will be Stacy Rue, Rudy Rue, Todd Martin, Drew Martin, Trent Barrett, and Brandon Flowers. Honorary bearers will be Kelly Kerr and Kerry Kerr.

Wib would want to say a very special thank you to Tracy Langley, his personal physician; to all the loving caring E. R. and hospital doctors and nurses at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, and especially Dr. Franser, Dr. Garber, Dr. Wolf, Dr. Slate and Dr. Clark of the eye clinic at CNMC for the wonderful care given him these past several years.

Wib did not die of Covid-19, but he was very sensitive to the severity of this horrible virus. Consequently, his wish was that everyone wear a mask to the service, even though it is outside.
