Services for Byron Gaylon Rowsey, 69, are 10:00 Saturday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Floyd Kaiser will officiate with Bobby Johns assisting. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Rowsey died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home. He was born September 30, 1946 in Allen to Ulys Grant and Ruby Jewel Smith Rowsey. He attended Allen schools and graduated from Allen High School.
He married Janis Carol Johns October 14, 1967 in Ada. Mr. Rowsey was the operations manager for Kerr Pump Company, retiring July 2012. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and had served in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Janis, of the home; a son, Derek Rowsey and his wife D’Nay of Ada; a granddaughter, Desiree Patterson; great-grandson, Easton Claborn; one brother, Roger Rowsey and his wife Cheryl of Allen; two sisters, Charlotte Clarke of Allen, and Donna Phillips and her husband Darrell of Enid; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Darrell Lackey, Rick Carter, Tim Robertson, Kevin Tate, Grant Rowsey and Jason Adair. Honorary bearers will be Wendell Sherrell, Wib Scroggins, Leon Willoughby, Travis Thetford, Bobby Joe Perkins, Bruce Whisenant, David McCarn, Jimmy Nix, Doug Stinson.
