Services for Aubrey Jackson Presley, 77, Byng, are 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Criswell Chapel, Revs. Earl Hood and Charles Murphy officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Presley died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. He was born November 13, 1931, in Tishomingo to Harold Jack and Nora Beatrice Nichols Presley. He came to this area in 1945 from Tishomingo and graduated from Latta High School. He retired from Owens Brockway Glass Company after 42 years of service as a mold maker in the machine shop and also a farmer.
He married Emma Lee Grissom on October 21, 1950, at Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Latta.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Presley, of the home; three children, June Newberry and her husband Terry, Jean Houston and her husband Doy,, and Jay Presley and his wife Tonya, all of Byng; grandchildren, Tammy Whitaker and her husband Dennis, Byng; Alisha Cable and her husband Allen, Byng; Cody Newberry and his wife Tiffany, Byng; Jody Newberry and his wife Amanda, Happyland; Kymberly Allen and her husband Jeremy, Granby, Colorado; Jamie Houston, Oklahoma City; Kimberly Wiley and her husband Steve, Greenwood, Arkansas; Josh Presley and his wife Stacy, Ada; and Randy Presley and his wife Laura, Byng; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; father, Jack Presley, Ada; two sisters, Louise Southerland, Roff; and Janet McWhorter and her husband Harold, Ada; and one brother, James “Pete” Presley and his wife Lahoma, Ada. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Presley, on April 24, 1997; a son, Terry Joe Presley, on September 11, 1961; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, C. L. and Reba Grissom.
Bearers are grandsons, Jamie Houston, Josh Presley, Randy Presley, Cody Newberry, Jody Newberry, Derek Whitaker and Colton Allen. Honorary bearers are Luke Neely, Clyde Casady, Jerry Bottoms, Dan Dailey, Lanny Eaves, Glen Allen, Junior Grissom, Joe Hooser, Lloyd Delozier and Vernon Laxton.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday evening at Criswell Funeral Home.
