The celebration of the life of Ronald Dee Newby, 83, of Ada, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home. Rev. Kathy Lofton will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ronald Dee Newby was born on November 16, 1938, to Oma and Hazel Newby in Maxwell, OK. Ron was the second son to this union.
Ron attended school at Bebee, OK. He began his career working in the oil field in his mid-teens. His career spanned more than sixty years. He traveled and worked in various states before returning to Oil Center and developing a partnership with Research Oil Company. Ron enjoyed a remarkably successful career.
Ron also loved horses. He trained and competed in various races with success. Ron was a rancher; he took pride in raising cattle and cultivating his land. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and smoking ribs and brisket. Ron was known in the community for raising huge gardens and sharing the bounty.
Ron and Rozina were united in holy matrimony on June 27, 1997, and were blessed with their beloved son, Nikolas. Ron was also the proud father of Nancy Ann Hooser, whom he loved and adored; God called her home on March 31, 2002. Ron had two grandchildren, Vanity Shae Hooser and Britney Nicole Hooser, two great grandchildren, Ahana Kenzil Walker, and Elijah Alexander Lizardi Hooser.
Ron accepted Christ and was baptized at Gilfield Baptist Church in Davis, OK under the leadership of Rev. Namon C. Melvin Sr.
Ron was an extraordinary human being. He loved God, his family, friends, neighbors, and his community. He shared his life graciously, he loved unconditionally, and genuinely.
Ron went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Lee Newby, and Larry Gene Newby; one daughter, Nancy Ann Hooser; and one nephew, Jacob Lee Newby.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rozina Newby of the home; his son, Nikolas Newby of Ada, OK; two granddaughters, Vanity Hooser of Ardmore, OK and Britney Hooser of Queens, NY; two great grandchildren; Ahana Kenzil Walker and Elijah Alexander Lizardi Hooser, mother-in-law, Gwen Williams, and a host of relatives and friends.
