Graveside services for Max Rudy Nelson, 90, of Carrollton, TX, formerly of Ada are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada, Rev. David Sutton will officiate. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Nelson passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Carrollton, TX . He was born August 13, 1928 at Haworth, OK to Rudy Edgar and India Erman Dukes Nelson. He attended Smithville, OK grade school and graduated from Smithville High School.

He married Imogene Burleson September 3, 1953 in Ada. She preceded him in death April 14, 2004 in Ada. Mr. Nelson was a Postal Clerk at the U. S. Post Office in Ada until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carrollton. Mr. Nelson had served in the U. S. Army, being honorably discharged as a Sergeant and was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association – General Walton H. Walker Chapter 215.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Nelson and wife Donnetta of Carrollton, TX and Mike Nelson and wife Linda of Orlando, FL; two granddaughters, Ashley Gray and husband John of Edmond and Whitney Nelson of Dallas, TX; three grandsons, Tyler Nelson and wife Shannon of McKinney, TX, Jordan Nelson and wife Cori of Moore and Drew Nelson of Dallas, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Riley Allred, Mila Nelson and Raelynn Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Imogene; a brother, Jack M. Nelson; and a niece, Jacqueline Richey.
