Services for Betty Lou Neely, 90, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Rusty Fuller and Rev. Don Sayre will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neely died Friday, April 26, 2019 at her home. She was born October 4, 1928 in the Conway community to Clifton and Ruby Roberts Deaton. She graduated from Byng in 1946 where she played basketball for Bertha Frank Teague.
She married Alfred “Luke” Neely June 1, 1948. Mrs. Neely worked at Hazel Atlas Glass 8 years and retired from the Pontotoc County Assessor’s office after 25 years of service. She was a volunteer at Valley View hospital for 21 years, a member of the Healthy Heart Club and enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years. Betty was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Luke Neely, of the home; three children, Cathy Roberts and husband Herschel of Scottsdale, AZ, Lisa Shores and husband Stanley of Ada and Joe Neely and wife Dusty of Ada; brother, Muriel Deaton of Lake Dallas, TX; sister, Sue Calvert of Oklahoma City; three sisters-in-law, Jeanie Kulbreth, Shirley Hill and Doris Maia; grandchildren, Jon Roberts and Wife Paula of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeff Roberts and wife Jennifer of Colorado Springs, CO, Lesli Barrett and husband Fred of Stonewall, Lindsey Edwards and husband Trey of Ada, Tyler Neely of Thackerville, Zac Neely and Deesa Neely both of Ada, great grandchildren, Noah Roberts of Frisco, TX, Catalina Roberts of Ft. Worth, TX, Beckett Roberts of Oklahoma City, Sean Roberts of Colorado Springs, CO, Peyton Barrett of Stonewall, DrewEdwards, Bryce Edwards and Finn Edwards all of Ada, and special friends Lanny and Holly Glasscock.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great granddaughter, Anna Edwards.
Bearers will be her grandchildren, Jon Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Tyler Neely, Zac Neely, Lesli Barrett, Lindsey Edwards and Deesa Neely.
