Services for Vernon Ray Manuel, 67, of Stonewall are 10:00 Monday, July 3, 2023 at Criswell Funeral Home, Pastor Chad Large will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Vernon passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his home. He was born September 5, 1955 in Oklahoma City, OK to Vernie Rack and Ollie Evelyne Yarberry Manuel.
Vernon worked at Westfall’s and McNutt’s body shop before opening his own body shop, Manuel’s Body and Frame of Stonewall. He took great pride in everything he did.
He was a sibling of 13 and loved his family dearly.
Vernon always reminded everyone his last name was Manuel and he was born on Labor Day. He definitely fulfilled the duties of Manual Labor.
Vernon loved to fish and a man’s trash was his treasure. He lived life simply and was an example of not living above your means.
The man could fix anything. Vernon could outcook anyone on the smoker.
He loved his pride and joy more than anything in this world and was the best Daddy a daughter could ask for. He will be deeply missed.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Rae Manuel; three sisters, Linda Borden, Judy Noland and Kathy Bolton and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Anita Adams, Rebecca Carson and Sharon Earl; and six brothers, George Manuel, Quenton “Roy” Manuel, Glen Manuel, Dennis Manuel, Geary Don Manuel (Ernie) and Louis Manuel.
Bearers are Dustin Manuel, Dillon Manuel, Ashden Rowell, Tracy Noland, Jagger Manuel and Arthur Tribbey. Honorary bearers are Dillon Manuel, Jr. and Lee Noland.
