Services for Ray Lewis Magar, 86, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Magar passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Ada Care Center. He was born November 14, 1931 at the Maxwell Community, northwest of Ada to James Riley and Ida Grace Palmer Magar.
He married Betty Virginia Reed June 30, 1951 in Pontotoc County. She preceded him in death May 9, 1993. Ray retired in 1993 from the City of Ada Parks Department after 24 years of service. He was a founding member of the Center Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jackie Ray Magar and wife Judy (Price) Magar of Ada; a daughter, Susan (Magar) Lewin and husband Larry of Center; his grandchildren, Tamara (Magar) Herald and husband John of Lone Grove, Kristina (Magar) Sibble and husband Montana of Ada, Brandi Walters and husband Zac of Ada and Mark Lewin and wife Debbie of Center; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Magar Tucker of Moore; brother-in-law, Van Reed of Ada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, Franklin Magar, James Alvin Magar, Vernon Owen Magar, Delbert Buren Magar and Essel Veral Magar; and five sisters, Beulah Magar Turner, Vernice Magar Dryden, Ida Irene Magar Klutts, Thelma Jean Magar Jeter and Dorothy Wilma Magar Robert Lovin.
Bearers will be Ronnie Mackey, Anthony Prince, Danny Morris, David Morris, Boyd Cox and Montana Sibble. Honorary bearers will be Dalton Sutton and John Herald.
