Services for Bruce Alan Johnson, 76, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Central Church of Christ, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born February 15, 1948, in Ada, OK to Doyle and Omega Johnson. He graduated from Ada High School in 1967 where he excelled athletically as a proud Ada Cougar. Bruce served in the U. S. Navy.
He married Nancy Gay December 11, 1970. Bruce worked for over 30 years in Law Enforcement. He served as an Investigator for the Pontotoc County District Attorney’s office until his retirement. He was truly one of a kind and was dedicated to making a difference in the communities he served.
Bruce loved riding motorcycles, music, singing and telling stories. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed being with his friends and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; a son, Chris Johnson, and wife Amber of Ada; daughter, Lisa Wilson of Denton, TX; sister, Cindy Abercrombie of St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren, Hayley Gregg, Ashley Gregg, Connor Johnson, Jalen Wilson, Jace Wilson and Jevin Wilson; a niece, Angela Haik; and nephew, Carey Abercrombie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Tommy Cosper, Joe Lee Walker, Pat Mitchell, Terry Jordan, Gary Burden, and Harold Rhoads. Honorary bearers are Steve West and Lynn Walden.
