Services for Mary Lou Duty Garrett are 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Loyd Thompson will officiate and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada.

Mary passed from this life and joined Jesus in her heavenly home, on Thursday, July 14, 2016. She was 86 years of age.

Mary Lou Duty was born on April 28, 1930, to her parents William James (W. J.) Duty and Lottie L. (Griffin) Duty at Jesse, OK.

Raymond (Paul) Garrett and Mary Lou Duty were married on July 4, 1948. They had three children, Raymond Carl Garrett, Kenneth Paul Garrett, and Donna Louise Garrett.

Mary was currently living in Durant, OK. She previously resided in Atoka, OK. She has been a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church in Atoka, OK.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Garrett and wife Lisa of Atoka, OK, and Raymond Garrett and wife Jennifer of Enid, OK; one daughter, Donna Garrett Townsend and husband Kenny of Durant, OK.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren; Stacy Watkins and husband Jeff of Stillwater, OK, Sean Garrett of Atoka, OK, Steven Garrett of Stillwater, OK, Derrick Glover and wife Amanda of McAlester, OK, Dr. B. K. Glover and wife Stacey of Checotah, OK, Gregg Garrett and wife Lindsey of Oklahoma City, OK, Todd Garrett and wife Natalie of Enid, OK; Jennifer Kirk and husband, James of Edmond, OK; and Caleb Coplen of Enid, OK, Brian Townsend and wife Jordan of Durant, OK. Her great-grandchildren, Garrett, Brevan, Brinlee, and Gentri Watkins; Cort, Karlee, Ethan, and Jeter Glover; Grant, Greyson, and Hallie Garrett; and Tatum and Finlee Townsend.

Mary is also survived by two brothers; Bill Duty and wife Barbara of Roff, OK and Phillip Duty and wife Barbara of Atoka, OK. She is survived by two sisters, Lois Durham of Midwest City, and Jessie Graham of Edmond, OK; and a host of family and friends.

Bearers will be Mike Miller, Jackie Baker, Wade Duty, Kevin Miller, Cliff Harting, and Preston Lynn. Honorary bearers will be grandkids, great-grandkids, Bill Duty and nephews Gary Baker and Phillip Wayne Duty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Paul Garrett; her brother, Houston Duty; her sisters, Edna M. Miller, Virgie L. Gillispie, and Martha J. Baker; her brothers-in-law, Percy D. Miller, Reford Baker, John Durham, and Bob Graham; her niece: Becky Ford; and nephews, Dewayne Fisher, Jim Gillispie, Mark Gillispie, and Eddie Brent Watkins.

To honor Mary, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite or St. Jude’s.
