Services for Ted Allen Gardner, 92, of Byng are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Don Sayre and Dr. Rusty Fuller will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner died Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home. He was born September 2, 1930 in Nolan County, Texas to Albert and Myrl Gregg Gardner. He graduated from Woodson, Texas Highschool in 1948. He came to the Ada area to play minor league baseball for the Ada Herefords, and later played in Arkansas and Texas.
He married Marilou Wright on December 3, 1949. They were happily married for 73 years. Mr. Gardner worked for Halliburton for approximately 20 years and later for Byng School until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marilou, of the home; one daughter, Cindy Gregory and husband Robert; two granddaughters, Jacye Jamar and husband Jon and Jayma Newport and husband Josh; three great-grandsons, Jensen and Jarrett Newport and Beckett Jamar; and a sister, Ruby Wells of Midland, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack Gardner and Troy Gardner; sisters, Winnie Thompson and Dollie Shelton.
