Services for William Douglas Floyd, 91, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Central Church of Christ, J. R. Smith and Ben Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Floyd passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at an Ada hospital. He was born January 4, 1932 in Vanoss, Oklahoma to David Reger and Cora Ritchey Floyd. After William graduated from McLish High School in 1950, he joined the U. S. Navy in 1952 and served on the USS Badoeng Strait. He was discharged in January, 1956.

On June 30, 1953, William married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Large in Ada, OK. William and Nancy had two children Cynthia and Steven Floyd.

William was grounds superintendent at East Central University for 25 years. On August 1, 1989, William retired and enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing and doing woodworking in his shop.

William is preceded in death by his parents; and his step-dad, Albert Cassidy.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Floyd, of the home; one sister, Bertha Duncan of Choctaw; one son, Steven Floyd and wife DeLisa of Ada; one daughter, Cindy Bell and husband Cecil of Piedmont; four granddaughters; two step-grandsons; and eight great-grandkids.
