Services for Travis Junior Ellison, 87, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Norman Standfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Ellison passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home. He was born December 23, 1929 at Stonewall to Grover Cleveland and Emma Louise Jones Ellison. He attended grade schools at Union Valley and Lovelady and graduated from Byng High School.
He married Evelyn Gerloff May 19, 1950. Mr. Ellison worked at Peoples Electric Cooperative for 44 ½ years, starting out as a lineman. He had been a construction foreman, served as a union steward and retired as a Maintenance Crew Supervisor. He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church and had served on the Latta School Board for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of the home; two sons, Larry Ellison and wife Debbie of Virginia and Randy Ellison and wife Lisa of Ada; two daughters, Deborah Standfield and husband Norman of Ada and Kathy Sexton and husband Creig of Edmond; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Ellison; four sisters, Jane Harrison, Ruby Brannon, Gladys Grisso and Reatha Grisso; a grandson, David Standfield and a great-grandson, Ethan Ullery; and a great niece, Lisa Poorman.
Bearers will be Michael Standfield, Jonathan Standfield Nettesheim, Jeremy Sexton, Richard Poorman, Steven Stick, Ronnie Meeks and Bobby Saunkeah.
