Graveside services for Oleta Joyce Cushman, 89, of Ada will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery; Scott Cushman will officiate.
Mrs. Cushman passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 10, 1936, in Ada to James Emit Sanders and Ethel Gorham Bryan Sanders.
In 1956, she married Charles “Scotty” Cushman in Ada, OK. She was the Co-Owner of Cushman Liquid Feed until her retirement.
Her life was spent taking care of others. Being one of the oldest of a family of 17 children she started on the path early and never wavered. She was the sunshine and love of her family, and we were honored to have her as our own.
Flowers and hummingbirds were her passion late in life, and she was surrounded by the beauty she loved.
Survivors include her son, Charles Russell Cushman of Ada; daughters, Vickie Velinda Elkins of Ada, Cindy Lou Cooper of Rogers, AR, and Nancy Gail Cushman Micklewright of Johnson City, TN; brothers, Stanley Sanders of Houston, TX, Rock Sanders of Stonewall, Michael Sanders of Kingsport, TN, Ray Lloyd Sanders of Latta, and Gary Sanders of Tacoma, WA; and sisters, Wanda Rich of Ada and Paula Elliott of Seminole.
Special thanks to Brian and Reno Cushman for dedicating their lives the past few years to make sure she was happy, healthy and taken fabulous care of.
Her sweet and special way with people will be missed by all that knew her.
