Services for Bruce Douglas Cowart, 62, of Ada, are 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Rev. John Haynes and Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Cowart was born August 21, 1959 in Ada to Richard Loman and Lily Margaret Stegall Cowart.
He married the love of his life Linda Kay McFarland, February 14, 1981 in Davis, OK. Mr. Cowart was the owner of Cowart’s Smokehouse Market. He was a business man with an entrepreneur spirit. He had the heart of a servant leader and truly loved the community of Ada, Oklahoma. Bruce was the definition of what a true mentor should be. He has touched many lives in his time here on earth.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two sons, Chris Cowart, Ada, and Colby Cowart and wife Laura, Norman; one daughter, Caitlin Tharp and husband Camden, Oklahoma City; twin brother, Brian Cowart, Ada; brother, Jerry Cowart and wife Jill, New Braunfels, TX; biological mother, Karen Turkington, San Mateo, CA; half-brother, Michael Turkington, San Mateo, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers are Don Carpenter, Derick Bowers, Chris Feiler, Ross Cowart, Andrew Cowart and Maddox Cowart. Honorary bearers are Brooks Thompson, Jagger Pedigo, Mike Lawson and Jeff Shirley.
