Services for Jim Carter, 77, of Union Valley are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dan Megehee and Lonnie Manuel will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Carter passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 19, 1940 at Tyler, TX. He graduated from Tyler High School in Tyler, TX and attended East Central University.

He married Marcia Tucker September 24, 1965. Mr. Carter was a brick mason until his retirement. He was a charter member of Cross Cut Cowboy Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia, of the home; a son, Jimmy Carter of Union Valley and his children, Laura Brooke, Andy and Braden Carter; a daughter, Jeni Carter of Ada and her children, Carter Blankenship and husband Colton and Cameron Lehman; a son, Keith Carter of Canadian and his children, Ryan and Kelsey Carter; and two brothers, Charlie Carter and wife Karen and Johnny Carter and wife Debbie, all of Ada.

Bearers will be his nephews, Don Tucker, Bobby Tucker, Chris Tucker and J. L. Carter; a grandson, Colton Blankenship and cousin, Greg Carter.
