Services for Charles William Cannon “Charlie”, 86, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Southwest church of Christ, Brian Lewis and Ken Cannon will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Charlie passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at a local nursing home. He was born November 28, 1937 at Neelyville, Missouri to Noel William and Lola Richardson Cannon.
He married Barbara Krohn June 20, 1963. Charlie worked in Maintenance at Woodward Governor in Rockford, Illinois for 29 years. After retirement he moved to Ada, OK and was employed by Citizens Bank, Valley View Hospital and Sheppard Heritage Homes holding various positions.
Charlie was a sweet, hardworking, gentle soul who made friends everywhere he went. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his heart.
His hobbies were woodworking and gardening. He was also a cowboy at heart and had a love for horses.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cannon, of the home; a son, Paul Cannon and wife Lisa of Boyd, TX; two daughters, Karen Lewis and husband Mont of Knoxville, TN and Diana Hatton and husband Greg of Ada; a brother, Ken Cannon and wife Joelle of Decatur, TX; two sisters, Lavon Moran and husband Steve of Cleburne, TX and Margaret Jordan and husband Jim of Sunset, TX; a sister-in-law, Rita Cannon of Rio Vista, TX; his grandchildren, Garett Hatton, Lindsay Jones, Griffin Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Austin Cannon, Alexis Cannon and Alivia Cannon; and four great-grandchildren, Grayson Hatton, Landry Hatton, Jaxson Jones and Sadie Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Howard Cannon and Glen Cannon.
Bearers will be Garett Hatton, Greg Hatton, Tyler Jones, Mont Lewis, Chuck Love, and Mark Coleman.
