Services for Wanda June (Hoover) Brown, 83, of Kalkaska, MI, formerly of Enid, Oklahoma are at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Mark Barnes will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada.

Mrs. Brown passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in Kalkaska, MI. She was born July 4, 1935 in Stonewall, Okla. to Dan Henry and Gussie Izora (Jones) Hoover. She graduated from Stonewall High School and completed her first year at East Central University in Ada.

While in college, she met and fell in love with Gerald Louis Brown. They were married January 22, 1954 at the Ada Free Will Baptist Church. He preceded her in death January 7, 2018 in Kalkaska, MI. They were happily married for 64 years.

Mrs. Brown retired from working for Sears and Roebuck. She was a devoted member of the Free Will Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Pioneer Wheathearts Extension Club and the Wheatheart Nutrition Project – Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include a son, Gerry Arthur Brown; a daughter, Marsha June Brown; two grandchildren, Justhiena Diane Peppas and Jacob Scott Niederhouse; a great-granddaughter, Lydia June Peppas; and many nieces and nephews that were all loved like her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Gerald Louis Brown; and siblings Leo, Ruby, Letha, Louise, Danny, Bill, Jewel, and Christine.
