Services for Rachel Vick (Simpson), 57, of Ada will be held at Trinity Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023. Visitation is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home.
On April 1, 2023, Rachel Vick (Simpson), loving wife and mother of five passed away and met her creator at the age of 57.
Rachel was born on December 31, 1965 in Fort Dodge, IA to Robert F. Simpson and Julie K. Simpson (Arnold). She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from East Central University and immediately began working as a child protective social worker. On October 24, 1997, Rachel married the love of her life, Tony Vick. They immediately began raising their four children, Ryan Luhmann, Daniel Luhmann-Maya, Tessa Vick and Tadd Vick. In April of 2004, Rachel and Tony were blessed with their fifth child, Caleb Vick.
Rachel was a devoted Christian and displayed her faith daily. Rachel was selfless in every aspect of her life. She worked for more than 26 years as a social worker, advocating for the defenseless. Rachel surrounded herself by her family and cherished every moment with her husband, children, brothers, sisters and parents as well as her close friends. Rachel lived life to the fullest, never taking anything for granted. She loved watching all of her children compete in an assortment of activities, taking pride in all they did. Rachel and Tony instilled incredible values in their children, both always putting their children first. She was known for her infectious smile, kind and compassionate spirit and her tenacious personality. Rachel always put others before herself and she whole-heartedly loved unconditionally.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Julie Simpson. She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Vick, five children, Caleb Vick, Ryan Luhmann, Daniel Luhmann-Maya- (Jose), Tessa Vick and Tadd Vick, brothers and sisters, Robert S. Simpson- (Colleen), Rebecca Simpson-(Debbie), Rae Lynn Gough- (Alfredo) Russell Simpson- (Paula) two grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial funds be donated to CASA of Pontotoc County, 514 E. 10th, Ada, Oklahoma, 74820.
