Services for Beverly Anne Smith, 79, of Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, and visitation we be Sunday between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m at Criswell Funeral Home. Rev. Kendall Martin, Pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy, and Jerry Nunnery will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, May 12, 2017 at her home. She was born February 4, 1938 in Fresno, CA to Perry J. and Ruby Borden Gillum. She attended Lafayette Elementary School in Fresno, CA, and graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, CA. She came to this area in June 1976 from Fresno, CA.
She married Ben Smith on August 8, 1958 in Carmel, CA. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2009. Mrs. Smith worked along side her husband to build and operate Arrow Pest Control, operated and managed Smith Country Store, and was previously employed by Pacific Bell Telephone Co.
Survivors include two sons, Bryan Smith and wife Kim of Ada , and Brent Smith and wife Theresa of Ada; one daughter, Brynna Nunnery and husband Jerry of Cleveland, TN; four brothers, Bill Gillum and wife Laura of Clovis, CA, Gene Gillum and wife Evelyn of Cleveland, TN, Deb Gillum and wife Christine of Ada, and Don Gillum and wife Carol of Okla. City, OK; seven grandchildren, Bethanye Smith, Mitchell Smith, Juston Nunnery, Jacqueline Haggy, Jordan Nunnery, Matthew Smith and Magan Smith, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Smith; her parents, Perry and Ruby Gillum; step-mother, Corine Gillum, and one brother, Ronnie Gillum.
Bearers will be Matthew Smith, Mitchell Smith, Jerry Sellers, John Daniel, Charles Bazzell, and Steve Timmons.
