Memorial services for Donnie Gilbert Pierce, Sr., 74, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, July, 14, 2023 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Troy Byrd will officiate.
Donnie was born in Memphis, Texas on June 18,1949 to Fred Leroy Pierce and Bessie Clestinea (Cape) Pierce. Donnie was the youngest of their seven children.
He departed this life on Saturday, July 1,2023 at Ada Mercy Hospital, with his children by his side, at the age of 74 years, 0 months, 13 days.
Donnie worked in various occupations over the years, mechanic, oil field roughneck, and corrections guard were just a few in his long lifetime.
He enjoyed being outside and fishing before his health declined. He also enjoyed, his favorite tv shows, the Lone Ranger, Classic westerns and “America’s game, Wheel of Fortune, with his beloved pet, snoopy close by.
Donnie was very proud of his children, Donnie (LD) Gilbert Pierce Jr.; Teresa Jean Pierce; Charles Gilbert Pierce Sr., but his greatest joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he referred to them as “them babies”. He loved to share stories of his youth and adventures, and they were delighted to listen and laugh with him. He will be missed beyond words.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Pierce, 1 brother, Cecil Pierce, 2 sisters, Barbara Kay Wilson, Clestine (Tessie) Jones, and 1 grandson, Charlie Joe (CJ) Gordon.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Mary (Rhodes)Willems Pierce of the home; Children, Donnie (LD) Pierce Jr. and wife Kim of Ada, OK; Teresa Jean Pierce, Ada, OK; Charles Pierce Sr. and wife Samantha, Ada, OK; Stepson, Randall Willems and wife Jennifer of Texas. Grandchildren, Nevaeh Pierce, Brittney Mason, Winston Barnett, Chelsa Bittle, Aubree Ford, Aiden Ford, Barbara Sue Pierce, Charles Pierce Jr., Tristin Weeks, Kallie Smart, Courtney Smart. 13 great-grandchildren. 3 sisters, Ethel Hurley and husband Albert of Ada, OK, Amber Henry of Sulphur, OK, Amy Pierce of Paul’s Valley, OK, 2 brothers, Bennie Pierce and wife Delane of Texas, and Kenneth Pierce, Ada, OK, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
