Services for Wilburn Lee Keeling , 82 of Ada are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jared Newby will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Keeling died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at a Shawnee hospital. He was born April 29, 1933 at the Bebee Community in Pontotoc County to Nathan Herd and Susie Alma Palmer Keeling.
He married Denzil Ruth Newby July 12, 1954 in Ada. Mr. Keeling served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served in Japan, Iceland and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. After he was discharged from the service, he attended Rose State College in Del City. Mr. Keeling was employed with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in Lexington as a Lieutenant until his retirement. He and his wife were owners/operators of Keeling Mobile Homes, Inc. at their residence, in Ada and Kingston for many years. Later, Mr. Keeling grew vegetables and sold them at the Ada Farmers Market.
Survivors include his wife, Denzil, of the home; two sons, Larry Don Keeling and his wife Debbie and Randy Lee Keeling and his wife Glenda, all of Ada; five grandchildren, Jennifier Keeling Yarbrough and husband Jamie, Michelle Keeling Powell and husband Josh, Stacy Keeling Brewton and husband Daniel, Shawn Keeling and wife Pattie and Chris Keeling; his 12 great grandchildren, Kaylee Grim, Brayden and Caleb Yarbrough, Jonathan Turner, Tyler and Kelsey Brewton, Amiee Blankenship, and Sherrie, Brooke, Jocelyn and Taylor Keeling; and Olivia Powell; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Matt Monroe Keeling, Vaughnie Darrel Keeling and Billy John Keeling; a sister, Joann Keeling Bagwell; a grandson, Craig Keeling; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Turner.
Bearers will be Shawn Keeling, Chris Keeling, Jamie Yarbrough, Daniel Brewton, Josh Powell and Danny Davis.
