Services for Edward Freeman, Jr., 84, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at A Place of New Hope in Latta, OK. Rev. Toby Willoughby will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 pm. Tuesday, March 29. Edward Freeman, Jr. was born July 11, 1937 to Edward Freeman, Sr. and Allie (Harness) Freeman at Rudy Township near Alma, Arkansas. He passed away March 27, 2022 in Ada, OK.

In 1957, Ed went to work at Rohr Aircraft in Chula Vista, California, then to Convair General Dynamics in San Diego, California. When he returned to Ada, he worked in maintenance at the East Central University Physical Plant until his retirement in 2001.

His first wife, Lucille (Kaiser) Freeman, passed away in 1987. He later married Anna (Price) Sutton at Oil Center, Oklahoma.

He was a member of and served as deacon for the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. Ed was currently a member of A Place of New Hope, at Latta, OK.

He was affectionately known as Papa to his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren.

Edward is survived by his wife, Anna; a daughter, Beverly Rinehart and husband Rickey, of Ada; a son, Chris Sutton and wife Michele of Ada; a grand-daughter, Taylor Rinehart, of Ada; grandsons, Buckey Sutton and his children, Rhyle, of Allen and Jolie and Shade of Ada; Josh Sutton and wife Melisha and their children, Autumn and Kylee, of Ada; Logan Rinehart and wife, Natoya and their son, Nathan, of Tulsa; other survivors include a sister, Ruth Ellis, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a brother, Robert Freeman, of Alma, Arkansas; a brother-in-law, Kirksey Davis, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Genendal Hall, of Ada: and brother-in-law, John Price, of Ada. He is also survived by a bonus daughter and granddaughter Laura Nickel and Jaime Sutton.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lucille; his sisters, Betty Davis and Rosie Schmitt; his brothers, Joe and Ruben Freeman, and his brother-in-law, Earnie Ellis.

Bearers are Chris Sutton, Rickey Rinehart, Buckey Sutton, Josh Sutton, Logan Rinehart and Kenny Abbott. Honorary bearers are Shade Sutton, Nathan Rinehart, Danny Pierce and Wayne Willoughby.
