Shirley Ann Delozier was born Nov. 7, 1935, to Charles Jasper and Elsie Alma Hardgrave Reamy at Paris, Arkansas. She died Friday, June 1, 2018, at an Ada hospital.

She is survived by Arnold Delozier and Cheryl, son; Donald Delozier Jr., son; Diana Philips and Bill, daughter; Phillip Delozier, son; and Gregory Delozier, son. She is also survived by Billy Reamy, brother, Jackie Reamy, brother, Janice Forbes, sister, Sandra Bowman, sister, Charlotte McAlvain, sister, Timothy Reamy, brother, Anthony Reamy, brother, Jennifer Rock, sister, Patrick Reamy, brother, Donald Reamy, brother, Nancy Jones, sister, Joan Tanner, sister and John Clay Reamy, brother; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She and Don Delozier were married Jan. 15, 1953, at Ada. He died Jan. 14, 2010.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Delozier; her son, Gerry Delozier; her mother, Elsie Reamy; her father, Charles Reamy; her sisters, Peggy Nester, Juanita Reamy, Beulah Hook and Betty House; her brothers, Jerry Reamy, Robert Reamy and Charles “Buddy” Reamy; and great-granddaughter, Gloria Walker.

Shirley loved life and literally lived for her family. She loved to cook and if you were ever lucky enough to enjoy her cooking then you would agree that she was one of the best. She enjoyed making quilts and had helped her mother make many quilts before her mother left this world to be with Jesus. Now they are both in heaven singing praises to the Lord. She especially enjoyed going to hear gospel singing at the Hoe Down in Byars and cooking for the crowds gathered there.

In Shirley’s younger days she raised a large garden and canned everything she could for her family. Her cellar shelves were always full.

She loved with a special kind of love, especially her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild and was always happy to see them when they visited.

One of the highlights of Shirley’s life was when she went on a cruise with her mother and ALL of her sisters. She and her sister Charlotte had a contest to see how many lobsters they could eat!

In closing, all her children and grandchildren want to say that they had the most loving, wonderful mother and grandmother in the world.
