Services for Lloyd Burk, 78, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex Convention Center, Marty Brock and Mike Bush will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home. He was born June 15, 1940 in Ada to Floyd and Oleta Collins Burk, Sr. He graduated from Vanoss High School.
Mr. Burk was self-employed as a cattle hauler. Lloyd was a World-Champion Bull Rider in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Joann of the home; three daughters, Becky Wainscott of Ada, Tammy Ward and husband Joe of Pauls Valley and Kaci Townley and husband Thomas of Monticello, AR; two sons, Rocky Howard of Ada and Darrin Tucker and wife LaDonna of Ada; a daughter-in-law, Shelly Burk of Ada; two nephews, William Ray Griffiths of Ada and Bo Burk of Ada ; one niece, Jeanetta Matthews and husband Charles of Ada; a brother-in-law, Jim Hogan of Ponca City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Floyd Burk; one sister, Betty Barett; one son, Lloyd Burk, Jr., and a grandson, Steven Ward.
Bearers will be Phil Cody, Carl Chism, Ryan Williams, Johnny Mussicci, Gary Stillwell and Randy Crook. Honorary bearers will be Vernon Williams, J. O. Cravens, Jan Story, Ben Jordan, Doug Williams, Red Duffin and Harvey Brummit.
