Services for Jaunita Wofford, 81, Lula, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Glen Russell, Gene Sluder and Bill Sluder will officiate. Burial will follow Lula Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wofford died Monday, February 4, 2008 at a McAlester hospital. She was born September 18, 1926 at Stonewall, Oklahoma to Clint and Cordie Watson Williams.
She married William Earl Wofford on June 4, 1943. He died March 3, 1989. Mrs. Wofford was a press operator at Remington Arms for many years and was a member of Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie “Sis” Russell and husband Glen, Farris; three sons, Harold Ray “Dink” Wofford and wife Brenda, Allen, Gary Dean Wofford, Lula, and Roy Lynn Wofford and wife Dana, McAlester; a brother, Ralph Williams and wife Pheobe, Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Jean Davidson and husband Floyd, Moore, and Mary Joyce Gregory, Fort Walton Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren, Ross Wofford, Frederick, Tammy Cannon, Lula, Shawn Wofford and wife Shannon, Allen, Chris Wofford and wife Jeannie, Preston, Craig Wofford and wife Jacki, McAlester, Tracey Haggard and husband Eric, Rowlett, Texas, Kerri West and husband Ernie, Francis, Chuck Wofford, Lula, Jamie Wofford, Tulsa, Jana Walley and husband Gerrad, Austin, Texas, Brad Wofford and wife Angela, Allen, Lori Rhoades, Eufaula, and Trent Castleberry, Durant; 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Winford Earl Wofford, a grandson, Keith Alan Wofford, a great grandson, Trey Wofford, a great granddaughter, Hanna Rochell Wofford, a brother, William Williams, and a sister, Marie Gould.
Bearers will be Ross Wofford, Shawn Wofford, Chris Wofford, Craig Wofford, Chuck Wofford, Jamie Wofford, and Brad Wofford.
