Services for Billie Doris Russell, 71, of Mead, formerly of the Lula area, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Allen First Baptist Church, Rev. Bill Sluder will officiate. Burial will follow at Lula Cemetery.

Mrs. Russell passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at a Dallas hospital. She was born December 21, 1945 at Ada to William Earl and Jaunita Williams Wofford. She attended Allen schools and graduated from Allen High School in 1964.

She married Glen Russell January 16, 1965. Mrs. Russell was a coilwinder for Western Electric and later she was a domestic worker.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Russell, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Cannon of Mead, OK and Tracey Haggard and husband Eric of Wylie, TX; a brother, Harold Ray Wofford and wife Brenda of Allen; and three grandsons, Benjamin Earl Whipkey, Mason Isaiah Whipkey and Jacob Cameron Whipkey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Roy Lynn Wofford, Garry Dean Wofford and Winfred Earl Wofford.

Bearers will be her three grandsons, Benjamin Earl Whipkey, Mason Isaiah Whipkey, Jacob Cameron Whipkey; and her beloved nephews, Ross Wofford, Shawn Wofford, Chuck Wofford, Brad Wofford, Craig Wofford, Chris Wofford and Jamie Wofford. Honorary bearers will be Eric Haggard, Joey Weger, Danny McDougal and Shelly Turpin.
