Longtime Delano resident, James "Paul" Barrett, was born in Fittstown, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, on December 1, 1917. He went home to meet the Lord on December 13, 2003. A private family memorial service was held December 15, 2003, in Delano at the Lane Family Funeral Home. His funeral will be held December 19, 2003, in Stonewall, Oklahoma, and burial at Jesse Cemetery.

He married Louise Holland on April 12, 1941, in Connerville, Oklahoma. They had three daughters. He loved fishing, golfing and hunting; but he especially loved his family. Paul was a man with a tremendous "generous" heart and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Louise, of 62 years; daughters, Ann Grogan and husband, Dick, Paula Clark and husband, Brad, Betty Frost and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Tracy Collins and husband, Gary Shelley Sanguras and husband, Barry, Jimbo Brown, Liberty Amundson and husband, Sean and Steve Frost; great grandchildren, Lance, Morgan, Sydney, Kyle, Courtney, Josh and Rowdy; and also numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Nelson and Annie Laura Barrett; brothers, Curtis, Leonard and Floyd Barrett; sisters, Edna Adamson and Olin Duty.

Paul was a World War II Army Veteran and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. After leaving the military in 1945, he was employed by Schenley Winery for 35 years. After retirement, you could find Paul on the golf course just about any day, "rain or shine." He loved to go back to Stonewall, Oklahoma to visit family and friends. There he was always fishing or squirrel hunting.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the crew at Pioneer Restaurant for treating our Mom and Dad so special.
