Services for Lenora June (Riley) Scott, 94, long time resident of Stonewall, are 2:00 p.m Thursday October 10, 2024 at the Stonewall First Baptist Church with Rev. JP Williams officiating, assisted by Rev. Duane Riley. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Criswell Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 9th.

June went to be with her Savior on October 5th, 2024.

She was born January 8, 1930 at Clarita, Oklahoma to Ernest and Arlene (Savage) Riley. She attended Olney Schools, graduating in 1947. On October 10th, 1954, she married Bruce Scott at Stonewall. They were married for 67 years.

She obtained her teaching certificate from East Central State College in 1949 and began her teaching and coaching career in the Olney school system and later moved to Stonewall where she taught from 1960-2005. She received her masters’ degree in Business and Home Economics in 1961. She received her 50-year educator pin while at Stonewall.

She was a longtime member of Stonewall First Baptist Church where she taught in Sunday School and in Vacation Bible School. She was the church pianist for over 20 years. She had served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and OU women’s basketball, attending games in person until she was 90.

June is survived by two sons, David and Julie Scott of Stonewall, and Steve and Jane Bare-Scott of Tulsa, and a daughter, Jeanne and T.D. Teel of Ada, her grandchildren Greg Scott, Rebecca Scott, Bryan Scott, Jacob Scott, Cason Teel, Sarah Scott, and Megan Bare-Scott and 4 great-grandchildren along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother O.N. Riley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Stonewall First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Stonewall-McLish Education Foundation.
