Services for Madlyn Jo Poteet Mann, 80, Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Central Church of Christ in Ada, her son-in-law, Ronnie Worsham will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. Mrs. Mann died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at a Durant hospital.
She was born … She married Don Mann on July 23, 1976 at Byng. Mrs. Mann taught and coached girls basketball in the Velma school district and taught and coached girls basketball at Byng High School until her retirement. She coached the Oklahoma Trotters, a gymnastics and basketball team at Byng. They performed at the State Capital and also in Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Mann was a former member of Central Church of Christ and later a member of the Stonewall Church of Christ. She was a former secretary and founder of the Oklahoma State Women’s Basketball Association and a member of the Oklahoma Basketball Hall of Fame.
Survivors include her husband, Don Mann, of the home; a daughter, Tana Worsham and her husband Ronnie, Wylie, TX; a step-son, Kevin Mann of Ada; and grandchildren, Brandon Worsham, Kale Worsham, Casey Worsham, Brianna Worsham, Cameron Mann and Kierra Mann.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Donny Mann.
Bearers will be her six grandchildren, Brandon Worsham, Kale Worsham, Casey Worsham, Brianna Worsham, Cameron Mann and Kierra Mann. Obituaries may be viewed and online condolences sent to criswellfh.com.
