Services for Shirley Jeanne James, 73, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Stonewall First Baptist Church. Revs. Gary Jamar, Jerry Wells and Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. James passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her home. She was born January 21, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ethridge Felix and Imogene “Jean” Strickland Ogles. She graduated from Stonewall High School in 1967 and attended East Central University.

She married Donnie James February 7, 1969 at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada. Mrs. James worked for the Pontotoc Vo-Tech, retiring in 2013. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church in Stonewall.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie, of the home; a son, Zayne James and wife Jennifer of Latta; a daughter, Myndy Walters and husband Mark of Ada; three grandchildren, Kennedy Walters, Evelyn James and Aubrey James; nephew, Danny James and wife Cathy of Latta; niece Tammy Abney and husband Teddy of Latta; nephew Alan Ogles and wife Becca of Ada; and nephew, Tanner James of Ada and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alan Ogles; and nephew Terry James.

Bearers are Brian Bogens, Toby Wallace, Ronnie Brown, Alan Ogles, Joe Ramer, and Teddy Abney. Honorary bearers are Frank Patton and Ernie McDonald.
