Funeral Services for Mr. Douglas R. "Doug" Gray, 83, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiating. The committal service will be held at 1:30 p. m. at the Highland Cemetery in Stonewall, Oklahoma with Military Honors provided by The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard. Mr. Gray passed away on March 11, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Doug was born on August 9, 1932 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Oscar Gray and Lily Mae (Malone) Gray. He grew up in this area and later completed his education by receiving his GED, while serving in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, where he was part of an elite team known as the “Frogmen”, now called Navy Seals. After his honorable discharge, he worked in the oil field, and had his own company using heavy equipment while doing mostly dirt work in the construction business. Doug also owned and operated a ranch near Tishomingo for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Gray and four brothers, Billy Gene, Richard, William and Vernon Gray.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Linda Whitson and husband James, three granddaughters, Mandee, Jennifer and Emily, two grandsons, Dustin and Craig, nine great-grandchildren, five brothers, V. J., Louis, Delbert, Bobby and Donnie Gray, three sisters, Wanda Gillean, Shirley Danley and Barbara Graham, the mother of his children, Hazel Scott, his niece and caregiver, Sonya Turner, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Casey Fowler, Jason Trimmer, Terry Dunigan, Kyle Forgerty and Larry Fitzpatrick.
