Funeral services for Drumright resident, Bette Granstaff, were held 11:00 a.m.Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Drumright Church of the Nazarene. Interment followed at 3:30 p.m. in the Highland Cemetery at Okemah, OK. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Bette Granstaff was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on July 15, 1930 to the late Luther Groves & Donnie (Simmons) Groves. She passed from this life in Tulsa on January 18, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Bette was raised in Okemah and graduated from Okemah High school in 1949. On October 9, 1950 she married the love of her life, Robert Alvin Granstaff in Harrison, AR. They remained together until his death in 2004. Bette graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Southwestern Missouri State University at Springfield, Missouri. While Bob was in the Navy, they lived in San Francisco & San Diego before moving to Oklahoma City to start their family. Bette enjoyed a 35+ year career in the banking industry beginning at The Citizens Bank in Oklahoma City. When she and Bob moved to Drumright in 1961, she continued her banking career at the Bank of Cushing & the Citizens Bank of Drumright. In 1992, at the age of 62, she began her second career as the office manager at Drumright Oil Well Service working 23 years until her retirement in 2015. Bette was very active in many community organizations, most notably a 50+ year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the Drumright Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by 2 BROTHERS: Burral Groves & Euel Groves; & 2 SISTERS: Gladys Koske & Helen Porter.

Her remaining family includes her CHILDREN: Robert “Dusty” Granstaff of Drumright – Meri McGraw & husband Mike of California; GRANDCHILDREN: Shannon & Jordan Speir – Shaun & Monica Granstaff – Sarah McGraw; Great GRANDCHILDREN; Jameson – Isabella – Sawyer - & Tenley. She is also survived by Bobbi Norris (whom Bette & Bob considered as a daughter) & husband Buddy of Texas; as well as numerous other relatives, extended family members, and loving friends.
